Although James Pask and Isaac Chamberlain have to this point collaborated mainly in the area of fine dining they originally bonded over a love of Italian staple foods. Often during their time working together, they would work on both pizza and pasta recipes using the team to test their dishes at staff meal time.


When it came time to relaunch the Astoria restaurant it seemed a perfect opportunity to bring some of these ideas and dishes together to form a menu. Bringing their vision of an Italian-inspired New Zealand menu to midland park. Not ones to stick to the mold, the menu will be full of recognisable dishes reinterpreted through a kiwi lens, using the best seasonal and local produce wherever and whenever possible.
